  • New Orleans Dinner with Blues Music

My son is a creative writer in his first year of grad school at the University of New Orleans. He has really come to appreciate the NO blues music(which is really interesting since we're from NJ). His birthday is tomorrow and we are flying down to spend a few days. I'd like to take him to a restaurant that might have blues music during dinner. Does anyone know of any? I've read the forum and the tug boards and trip advisor, but can't seem to find any.
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. And any other tips while we are staying at Hotel de la Monnaie would be great, too!
    Thanks,
    Tom

There are so many great places to eat there. There are so many great places with great music there. I can't think of any that have great blues during dinner. The typical NOLA blues music would be so loud that it would give you indigestion while you were eating.

It would be better if you focused on having a great dinner, and then afterwards planned on going to a few different clubs for blues. Bourbon St. and Frenchmen Street both have multiple clubs with great music (usually no cover) as a good place to start.

But you can look here for some of my specific suggestions on both food and music.
