Yes, I'm off to NYC for early April, and Spain for July. But my Jazz Fest trip has been occupying most of my attention lately. United ran a special where they made extra tickets available via mileage, so I snagged two of those for my flight to Jazz Fest. Got a car rental for the week (Hotel de L'Eau Vive has free parking for owners) and a Priceline room at the Marriott for $80 to cover Thursday night. Found someone who is going the first weekend with whom to split a Brass Pass, and bought 3 single tickets before the price went up to cover my SO. Got two restaurant.com certs for $3 each. One for Willie Mae's Scotch House (fried chicken), one for Liuzza's By The Track (roast beef po'boys).
So, it looks like the cost is as follows for the two of us:
Airfare: $10 taxes
Room: $540 for timeshare + $100 for Priceline room, including taxes
Car: $260
1/2 of Brass Pass: $200
3 entrance tickets: $165
Parking on someone's lawn during the fest will probably cost about $70
Total cost: $1,345+cost of food (which will be almost the same as if we'd stayed home).
Pretty decent price for a week's worth of decadence.
