Wyndham Resort - Great Smokies Lodge - Tennessee
First Week - October 15-22 - Suite 6213
Check in was easy. Asked for a top floor but was given our assigned
unit. Nice location with a parking view and view of the Pigeon River.
Everything was perfect until a family moved in over top of us last night.
We had plan to stay in the same unit for 2 weeks
But was able to switch units for our second week.
Same building just on the Top Floor...
By the way the road from I-40 to and from d/t Gatlinburg
has been so backed up today, that we decided to stay in.
I fixed a fresh salad, roast pork, hot rolls with melted butter &
for dessert Kroger`s Lemon Meringue Pie & Pineapple Sherbert.

Traffic is likely much worse than usual this weekend because UT plays Alabama. Lots of Alabama fans will be your neighbors. Between that and the leaf peepers, I'll be heading in another direction tomorrow.

Marti, sorry I couldn't make it over to meet you while you are here. My handicapped brother who lives with me broke his leg and we are home bound for a while. Hope your stay is great. The mountains should be just beautiful right now. The one behind my house sure is but I so miss seeing the Smokies in their full colorful beauty.Comment

Get Together in the Smokies

The October weather was great for our outdoor get together
Temperature in the 70s with a perfect fall foliage background.
Took the back road out of The Wyndham Vacation Resort
Great Smokies Lodge here in Sevierville Tennessee 37876.
Passed by the Sevier County Fairgrounds
Left on Main Street to light by Walgreens
East on Dolly Parton Parkway Route 411
To Post Office (Mailed Eight Post Cards)
Right on Pittman Center Road Route 416
Continue to Birds Creek Road Route 454
Right on Glades Rd.
Be sure to stop and look at the beautiful
Little Log Wedding Chapel and Grounds..
Arts and Craft Community
Nice place to get out to shop or walk around.
Stopped at McDonalds
Turn Right on E Parkway Route 321
Continue until you get to Blue Green
Mountain Loft just outside Gatlinburg.
As we drove beneath the canopy of oak and pine trees up the winding
country road to Mountain Loft, we took photos of the cute little wooden
bears that greeted us on our way up to the gazebo for our get together.
Afterwards, went to Gatlinburg
and came back the same route.Comment

Tuesday
Went to Knoxville to see the Sunsphere at The World's Fair Park
Later walked along the Knoxville Riverfront at Volunteer Landing.

Light Rain and Low Cloud Cover Today
Wednesday
This afternoon we went to Three Bears General Store formerly
Three Bears Gift Shop 2861 Parkway Pigeon Forge, TN 37863.
Really nice old fashion general store,
friendly staff, great customer service
Must see!
Afterwards, we went to Fuddruckers on Collier Drive and ordered
their World Famous Hamburgers & Fixings to bring back for dinner.
Great as always!

Did you go up in the Sunsphere? We missed it when it was open during the World's Fair, but they finally reopened the visitor's deck. We went up about a year ago. Nice view.Originally posted by Marti
