  • Special assessment for Wilderness at the Smokies still on the way?

Another article on this.. More scary stuff... I guess that since it looks like they've found suckers to pay the developer's tab, they've decided to add a few million to it...

"Should the alternative proposals involve special assessments to the residents in the condominium and time share units around the Bridgemont complex, the property owners would like to be more involved in the discussions, according to Michael Repucci, an attorney for the Wilderness at the Smokies Property Owners Association.

According to Repucci, there was never any objection to an assessment. Questions about how the assessment was to be levied, how much and over what terms, among other things, needed to be answered before the deal could be approved, he said.

"Any time you can have community involvement would be helpful for everyone involved," he said.

The debt, which was disclosed in the 2009 city audit as $6.9 million, was recently determined to be $9.16 million because of additional charges for infrastructure work that had not been accounted for previously."
