We're headed back again! We get there every 18 months or so. Last time we were there was Oct 2006 or about 14 months after Katrina.

Initial FOOD plans so far are:
    Dinner: K-Paul's, Adolfo's, Jacques-Imo's
Lunch: Mother's, gumbo shop, NO School of Cooking

I have to review my notes from our past trips for more ideas. Any suggestions?

Mothers has the best Jambolia. Try johhny po boys for a good hero. Try to hit Nola's. Cafe Maspero on the coner has the best red beans and rice. Don't forget the Muffalatas.

Look at this thread for more info.

Definately Mother's. Try to get there before the crowd.

Cafe du Monde is another must-do. Right in the middle of Jackson Square.

And believe it or not, Harrah's has a great dinner buffet!

Also, we actually took a class at the NO School of Cooking. They showed us a jambalaya recipe I use every year at my Super Bowl party.

There are two schools recommended for the casual, but serious chef. Kevin Belton's classes at the NO School of Cooking, in the French Quarter, are a lot of fun, tasty and informative. The other one that is often recommended is the Cookin' Cajun school at the Riverwalk Mall. I have been to Kevin Belton's class, which I thoroughly enjoyed. But be aware that you are just sitting down and watching him cook.
