  • Hilton Head in February

Well we have this certificate to use up and Hilton Head is one of the choices. We don't feel like flying and have Daytona booked at the end of May already. We are thinking we can just relax and have some nice food and look at the water.

I like the Marriott resorts and they are all open to book. Anyone know of one better than the other? We aren't golfers just loungers

Marriott Grand Ocean is directly on the ocean and has an indoor pool.
That would be my first choice.

Marriott's Grande Ocean - South Carolina Timeshare - Marriott Vacation Club

Second choice would be Surfwatch, also because of the indoor pool

I know nothing about the different 'neighborhoods' of HHI - but some people prefer one location over the others.

A friend went a few years ago the last weekend of February into March and played golf 3 or 4 times. So if u can go at the end of the month, that would be preferable.

The island is only 12 miles long and shaped like a high top sneaker.

Monarch and HarbourTown and Heritage are all in Sea Pines one of the most beautiful plantations on the island at the toe.

Grande Ocean is just outside the SP gate near Coligny Circle and shares passes with Sea Pines to access the SP bike paths which are the nicest. GO is one of the larger and most popular Marriotts. About 8 buildings.

Mid Island are Harbor Point/Sunset Point next to Shelter Cove.

Surfwatch is a little bit north of those and is the newest Marriott with a fishing pond and a wooden walkway to the beach. The showers stalls are amazing. It is more spread out than the other properties as there is more land there.

Barony is at the North end of the island (the heel) and my personal favorite. There are 4 main buildings and then two garden buildings next to the Westin. There is a European Spa onsite and a terrific gym.

GO,Barony and SW have indoor pools which is important in colder months.

No night life if that matters, 40 minutes to Savannah or 90 to Charleston. We have not been in the winter months yet. Lots of places to eat and certainly the place to relax.
