New complaints arise about Hilton Head Island time-share company | islandpacket.com

Article mentions Coral Sands and Island Links.

However- it also gives the total complaints received as 3 for this year so this may be a case of a local reporter really stretching for a easy headline and picking a timeshare as the fall guy. He does soften the impact somewhat by including this, "Although Coral Resorts strives to make every customer happy, it's not reasonable to expect complete satisfaction considering the company brings in 25,000 to 30,000 couples per year for tours, Pierce said. Of those, about 4,000 to 4,500 buy time shares from the company."

We were at Island Links in January, which is now owned by Coral. Since it is a affiliate of DRI, we were able to get in without a trade. We agreed to attend a sales presentation by Coral.

It was probably the most pleasant one we have ever attended. The salesman was very respectful and actually took "no" for an answer. They gave us our gift, and that was it.

I don't often come to the defense of salespeople, but this company was good about what they promised for the 90 minutes.

The percentage of sales to tours seems a bit high. Maybe Wilson got the good guy---there are a few out there.
