If anyone is trading into Ocean Villas II in Nags Head, be aware that for now, they are using the YMCA pool and the public beach access 50 or so yards south of the resort. They had been in joint management with Ocean Villas (I) for a couple of years, and were using the pool and beach walkover on that resort's property. Joint management ended three weeks ago, and the first week, they were allowed to continue to use OVI's facilities. The board of OVI met and made an offer to allow continued use for a lump sum for the summer, and allowed pro-rated payments for two weeks to allow OVII's board to consider the proposal. No board meeting was called at OVII, and those two weeks expired. Now everything is in limbo. Those vacationing at OVII have been without use of the facilities since Saturday, and according to a board member there (who is NOT happy with this fact!) no meeting of the board has yet even been called.

OV1 and OVII
As a owner in OV1 .. I am glad not to have all the traffice from OVII comeing through out property. The time that where was a joint management, was terrible with OVII. The OV1 property was not kept up to standards we were used to. The OVII board did has only concerned with OVII and did not work with OV1.
The summer of 05 I had a horrible time trying to get the property manager to help with a problem in my unit. This year was wonderful to have a property manager there on the premise. -
To update, Ocean Villas II built their own dune walkover to the beach a few weeks ago on their own property. The walkway between the two resorts has now been taken up. Many owners there still are steamed about having to use the YMCA pool, but their board seems determined to stay the course on that and has let the offer on pool use expire.Comment

I just noticed on the OV2 websight, they make a big deal, with lots of pictures about the YMCA use. They say they will try next year to negotiate pool use again with OV1.Comment
