  • Hilton Head: Marriott vs the rest?

My friend owns a couple of Marriott weeks. She wants to go back to HHI next year and wonders which resort to choose. She owns at Harbor Point but wants to try a different resort. Any recommendations for her? She mostly likes to relax at the beach and therefore likes staying as close as possible to oceanfront, enjoy the sights of the area, maybe get a massage or spa treatment, but doesn't golf or play tennis, etc. anymore.
She could also look for a non-Marriott exchange to get what she wants.
    Any recommendations?

Older and quieter than the "big three" OF Marriotts, I like the Monarch at Sea Pines. Not too many bells and whistles, but a great location.

My other fave is Marriott Harbour Club. Not OF, but there's a free trolley to the Sea Pines Beach Club in season, and it's right at the marina in Sea Pines - great location.

I visited The Marriott near the Westen. IMO I felt crowded there. I prefer staying in the larger Plantain resorts like Shipyard or the Westin at Royal Palms

Marriott's Grand Ocean is one of my favorites, and I think it would be a good choice for her....It has a spa, is on the ocean, and is very close to Sea Pines, good restaurants, etc. Also, they have bike rentals on the property. You can bike to some shops & restaurants.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Thanks - sounds like she'll enjoy any Marriott she ends up at next spring. I hope she invites me.
