  • No No No No- Outer Banks.

Signs posted at the Nat'l Seashore.
    No Dogs
    No Kites
    No Footprints
    No ? one more I can't remember

What the f? How can you go to the beach and not leave footprints? , How many times have you been to the beach and not seen kids flying kites? and dogs playing in the waves.

Big uproar yesterday and town meeting. You can't walk in the sand, only in the water where the beach will wash away the footprints. How ya gonna get to your car without footprints? Kites, birds who are nesting may think they are preditors. Dogs, they scare the birds?

This is supposed to protect the birds? Not very friendly I'd say.

They've been trying to chase away tourist for the last few years, this is evident by their low trading power on RCI, i can't believe they are now going after the locals!

One homeowner was interviewed today and said this was sending the wrong message to tourists as the first thing they see on a sign is no, no, no, no.=== There was a meeting last night to get it overturned but it didn't work out. I believe this just effects the Nat'l Seashore . shaggy

I've seen signs before that say "Leave only your footprints", but no footprints?!?

It just seems ridiculous (not to mention impossible).

The answer is in "NATIONAL" The government is in charge and that gives the control over everything.

You have hit the nail on the head. This is the Yankee government, not local authorities, and I will bet you can find similar rules elsewhere in the country.

Actually, you might want to check Ask II for the II insider's comments about how often he gets requests for the Outer Banks that they cannot fill because they do not get the deposits.

It's No Dogs just about everywhere down here, too.

There is a dog park and a dog beach.

We took our dog to the dog beach and she was totally overwhelmed with the dozens of dogs running all over, wanting to smell her --- and so forth. We had to leave.

We found a place that is park-like where she can run and swim in the bay, and there are some unofficial dogs that frequent the beach we having been going to, a stretch in between two public beaches with no official access.

I take her canoeing, too, and set her out to swim.

I got sunburn yesterday, so I'm skipping today.

So you drag a tree branch behind you to obscure your footprints??

Since this is enviromentalism on steriods, maybe it was ''No Breathing'' since they don't like CO2 either and that is most of what human breath consists of.
