Beach Replenishment - Hilton Head

I am going to Hilton Head next month and received a letter last week about the beach replenishment there. They said it is scheduled for Sept.-Nov. and may have sections of the beach closed with distracting noise.

I hate to hear that since it's been 8 years since I have visited. Is it really that bothersome?

Atlantic Beach, NC did that some years ago. The noise was not that bad, but the pumps brought up clumps of mud along with the sand, which cluttered the beach for some weeks and smelled.

The town of Nags Head is planning a beach replentishment presently, but I have not seen any firm announcement of a timetable.
