    Fall Foliage Report, Western NC & No GA Mtns

    I spent yesterday up in the mountains back and forth between the Georgia and NC state lines. Hiked a bit on Appalachian trail off 76 between Hiawasee & Clayton. My report from the front lines...fall leaf color is not yet at peak in those elevations & in foothills. Give it another week-ten days if you're going leaf peeping around those parts.

    Carol, it's raining in the areas today....so I have a feeling if you all wait 10 more days, they will all be on the ground.
