Two OBX timeshares damaged in 2003 Hurricane Isabel are pictured in a 2007 official hurricane guide being distributed by the state. A photograph of Ocean Villa II with its pool washed away and neighboring Ocean Villas I with one of its units collapsed appear on one of the inside pages. Ocean Villas I dune walkover is also there still standing, but in the middle of what had become the beach and of course with the dune line washed away.
Immediately after the hurricane the timeshare whose destruction had been most photographed was Sea Ranch II. A large color picture of the devastation there had made the local front of the Virginia Pilot newspaper.
