We were there this past year in the last week of March. It was grade school spring break at the resort - I never saw many high school or college, just young families.
While I think it will be a crapshoot, we had some Very Nice Weather - into the 80s. Only two of us braved the ocean and it was .... refreshing.
Heated pools and lazy rivers were usuable, and many people were camped along the pool and on the beach.
We had one day of overcast + rain, in the 60s. Nights were of course very cool all week.
You just won't know until you get there!

Perfect golf weather....not hot, cool in the morning. Most of the better resorts have heated pools and other water amenities. Personally, the ocean is way too cold for me at that time of year. Most of the attractions and restuarants are open, so there is plenty to do around Myrtle Beeach. Room rates are very, very reasonable.
