Has anyone been to this resort in the last year since the renovation? Any information you can give me is appreciated. Also how far is it from the beach? Does the resort have a private beach access?

I've never been inside the resort but have passed it many times on the way to Royal Dunes. 1 Coggins Point Road 29928 - Google Maps
Pull up the linked map, the resort entrance is about where the word 'Point' is on Coggins Point Road. Check the scale, it's a half mile or so as the crow flies to the beach. There is no direct access from the resort, maybe the resort has some sort of arrangement for beach use and parking, I don't know, call them at 843-681-3582.

Bought there and rescinded in November 2006. Good thing for me the salesman dissembled so much. Might not have rescinded if I'd thought he'd said a true word. FWIW, the units we saw were very nice. But what would you expect? It was probably every bit of 1/2 mile or more from the beach.

The resort use the public beach located on Royal Dune Plantation. approx 3/4to 1 miles from the resort.

Quick Visit in Aug 2007

When in HHI we went to visit. Drove on property and saw the exterior including the new pool. Pool looked pretty inviting. I would agree that the beach is a little bit of a walk but if you have bikes it is an easy ride. We rode by it at least three times on our bike rides.

The beach is public access. There was some talk somewhere about the owners having priviledges at the Westin (on the beach). Work out facilities and the like is what I was thinking.

There were 2 or more buildings at the back of the property under construction when we were there.

Island Links - Recommended

I own at Island Links and have been there within the last year. The units are large, the resort is clean, and the pool is great. Access to the beach is via the Westin Hotel. Transportation to the beach is available and parking is available in the Westin garage.
