We are spending the last week of February in Hilton Head and looking to take a trip to Charleston and a drive thru of Edisto Island. Is this to much for a one day trip and should we consider spending the night in Charleston? If, are recommendations on where we should stay?

Charleston is about 2 hours away. If you leave early in the morning, I think you could do it in one day.

I agree with Ann marie about it being 2 hours away but IMO it is to much to do in a day even with an early start. There is just to much to see and do in Charleston. Be sure to eat at the Pirates House.
