Marti - We own there. We REALLY love it - it's just a fantastic property and is driving distance for us, which in a post-911 world was an important consideration. The fees are high. They are $844 for 2008. All units are 2 bedrooms, no lock-offs. The $844 is regardless of season or view. I am happy to provide any additional insight. I've sent an email to my contact on-property to find out about the status of the back two buildings, 3rd & 4th pools and fitness center. Feel free to PM me.

Okay, Marti - Here is the promised additional information from my MOW contact:

"Hi, Heather Lee! The building is NOT yet open. That will take place in May. They filled the pool outside this week. It is not a lazy river, but it is a zero entry on one end. They have buckets of water that will dump on the kids from above. The treehouse is almost frighteningly tall, but well screened in. They have slides going into the pool. It will be fabulous for the kids. They have done an unbelievable job with landscaping. All mature trees just blooming overnight. It's amazing to see magnolias that big just plopped in the ground like that! I promise you, you will not be disappointed. " - Can't wait for the next visit!

To Vinter, thanks for information on Myrtle Beach weather. We are doing two (2) weeks in SC this year, the second week of October in HHI and the third week in Oct at MOW.

We are looking follow to eating at the Sea Captain's House, The Fish House, The Carolina Roadhouse and The Flamingo Grill in Myrtle Beach. They were are great places to eat three (3) years ago.

We will be in Myrtle in mid March. I will look into those restaurants for us. Thanks for the tip.

We are in Myrtle Beach the week after Christmas. They are feeling the economy crunch. I would buy a local newspaper - The SunTimes (?) We same ads for restaurant discounts. Greg Norman had an ad for buy one get one free! The Aspin Grill is an upscale place/fine dining place too. We enjoyed it as well. A great place for breakfast is the Spring House. There are 2 or 3 of these in the area along Kings Blvd - US 17.

I actually own there but have never been there(I was planning to stop by there for a night just to check out the place on my way back from my recent driving trip to FL, but ended up heading to Galveston for some volunteer hurricane recovery work instead).

I would be very surprised if the villas DIDN'T have free wifi. Just about all the MVCI resorts have free wifi--at least all the resorts I've been to have.
