So what's going on with this resort? I see listings on eBay every day. And the selling prices seem to be very low. Someone just got a 2 BR summer float week for $500! Is the resort dumping a lot of weeks? Why isn't these weeks selling for more money? Isn't Sheraton a good group?

It's a nice place, convenient to Broadway at the Beach but far from the actual beach. We really enjoyed our stay there. Myrtle Beach has more restaurants per capita than any place I've ever been. If we were on the East Coast, I would consider picking up a cheap week there. We even exchanged my wife's sisters and their husbands into there next May using RCI.

I think people just want to get out from inder those maintenance fees and taxes. They are going up every year. Sheraton Broadway Plantation is beautiful resort it is a great place for golfing. I put alot of renters into the Myrtle Beach area. Owners want to be deeded alot closer to home. Also the market has alot to do with the fact they are selling alot cheaper and the way you market and advertise. Good Day

This is actually a great ownership as it gives u a 3 day preference/priority into all Starwood managed resorts thru II - Westins, Sheraton's, Harborside at Atlantis - and there are no size restrictions - a 1BR will frequently see a 2BR Starwood week outside of flexchange(and definitely different then Marriott). Platinum weeks at SBP are 9-43,47.

What is bad is that Starwood does not exercise a ROFR and as this is a 'voluntary' resort - meaning 'StarOptions' do not transfer with the sale - so you can only use your home resort or else trade thru exchange companies.

Free is good.....but I am heading for a divorce as it is!
You have to 'work it' in II with a silver week - but I know someone who owns this and has gotten reasonable trades to areas with plenty of TSs....
I wonder if SDKath could use this????

Of course I split the lockoff into 2 1 bedrooms for trading, silver is not a tiger, but I have had some nice trades.

Coupled with a challenged economy, the Sheraton Broadway Plantation is a "voluntary" resort. This means that the club program Starwood Vacation Netowkr (SVN) will NOT transfer to a buyer on the resale market. Many buyers through resale are after the SVN program and to do this, they have to purchase at "Mandatory" participating resorts like:

Sheraton Vistana Villages - Orlando
Westin Kierland Villas - Scottsdale
Westin St. John
Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas - Maui
Harborside Resort at Atlantis - Paradise Island, Bahamas
