  • No More MB Bike Weeks

Yesterday on the local news they announced that they are doing away with the motorcycle rallies in May. I am not sure of the fall one but thing they have been cancelled also. OY there is a link to the news articles but you know me, I don't know how to link. I know some of you come up for the bike weeks so wanted to give you a heads up. shaggy

Sorry to hear that. That has been one of my good rentals. I book bike week and get a nice return for the MF payment.

I can't find anything that said the bike week is canceled. I can find the new rules for the city of Myrtle Beach. They sure are discouraging the bikers.

Nothing is held in or sponsered by Myrtle Beach. Activities are in the surrounding area: Horry County Murrells Inlet or North Myrtle Beach.

And if you go to one of the links that was posted OY (and I had a heck of a time getting there since I don't go there much) it says that " But the Myrtle Beach Bike Week website counters this, saying that the rallies have not been cancelled."

While the City of Myrtle Beach may not support bike week, it will still happen in the other areas I listed.

Who knows but it will never be the same. Sort of like in the old days when Ft Lauderdale didn't want to be known as the spring break capital of the world. I just didn't want ts4ms or tuggers to go to MB without realizing they may have to have a drive to get to the festivities. shaggy

How must revenue will the state and city lose behind this cancellation or the lack of support for bike week?

A lot and they said they realize it but there was too many complaints from the residents. shaggy
