Most of the buffet seafood places in Myrtle Beach are over priced and much of the food taste the same - but that is my opinion.... for what it is worth. A little north of Myrtle Beach in Cherry Grove (I think that is the name) right off HWY 17 is the Parson's Table - it is a nice place to eat in a converted church. Also just across the stateline in Calabash are some good seafood restaurants too. As I mentioned in an earlier post Elijah's on the waterfront in Wilmington is excellent. Pay attention to the local Sun Newspaper in Myrtle Beach. There are some great coupon for eating out. The tourist $ is not flowing so easily right now. We were there the week after Christmas and it was very slow. Another good place to eat in MB that is local - Spring House. They have a great breakfast.Check Restaurant.com - Deals on neighborhood restaurants. $25 Restaurant Certificates for only $10! for dining coupon at Thorney's these usually go the within a few hours after they are released on the first day of the month. And last, another good place is the Mayor's House near Pawley's Island. If I think of anything else I will post it later.

I have been wondering about fishing. I see there are bigger boats that go out with tourist for a half day of bottom fishing for about $42. It isn't going to be 500 lb fish, but that doesn't seem that bad for a half day of fishing. Wonder if it is slow fish catching in mid March?

        Thanks, Sylvia

Fat Harolds, Ducks I & Ducks II. Spanish Galleon, and I think it's called the Pad. They are all within walking distance of each other and they are all on the Main Street of No. MB, The Galleon is on the corner of the beach. There is also 2001 but it is not in walking distance and has a couple of different kinds of music/clubs in the same building. Go over to Judys, again on main street and get a couple of beach music cd's to remind you of your trip. Hoskins restaurant is in the middle of it all. Have fun. shaggy

I bought the Myrtle Beach discount card and see it does list 2001, but none of the other clubs are on Shaggy's list. Unlikely I will visit a shag club, but there are enough restaurants on that discount card to keep me happy.

Is that where the Shaggy handle comes from, 'shag clubs'? Amazing the things I find out (or make up).

Yep, that's how I got my name, I used to love to do the shag (dance) and I love the music. I think you will too-- check it out!! During the week I doubt there is a cover charge. shaggy

I haven't heard any comments, has anyone done any of the ocean fishing in that area?

I have seen a couple half day trips that seem resonable, but I was wondering if anyone has any experience with fishing in this area.
