Isn't it great to have choices

We stayed there the year my youngest was born. He's 11 now, so the info is not very current. It was a good choice for us. We had a unit right on the beach and could sit on the bed and watch dolphins play at high tide.

It was too cool in March for beach activities and the no-seeums were awful, but we otherwise enjoyed our stay. Puttered around the area. Don't remember too many specifics.

I would expect it to be quite cold in February there. Personally, if I couldn't go to a much warmer climate at that time of year, I'd look for a nice mtn cabin with a fireplace.

We didn't stay there, but checked the resort out 2 years ago. Off the beaten path. Very few units on beach. Quiet, pretty. Not much of anything nearby to go out to eat. Golf. Those are my memories of the place.
Would we try it out? Sure!

We confirmed this and starting to make plans. What are some of the must dos for Charleston, SC? Any recommendations for a building or unit that we should request?

          Is the golf course onsite?

My boss loves Edisto Island so much he bought a house there, and I have friends who have vacationed there on the island. I'm told that it's really laid-back and quiet. I personally have never been there, but it's on my wish list. The beaches there attract sea turtles, and are a sea turtle nesting area, so there are night-time beach rules during nesting and hatching times to be aware of. I'm not sure if February would be affected by that.

I'm pretty sure you'll want to take long sleeves and a light jacket for February. Update us on how you liked it, please.

This is the list of amenities that the resort is said to offer on-site. I copied it off the Wyndham site.

            Amenities
            3 Outdoor Swimming Pools
            Golf Course

Our timeshare is at Edisto and we vacation there often.

If you picture a continuum with Myrtle Beach on one end, Edisto would be on the opposite end of that comparison. Nothing wrong with either place, just sayin'. Myrtle beach is big and very developed and bustling. Edisto is small and quaint and laid back.

Edisto Beach is mostly individual houses and small vacation developments. Wyndham has several different locations on the island and has a cabana on the beach with a free shuttle from all the different Wyndham locations.

Baypoint is our favorite. It is on the south end of the island and is on the river and marsh. It is beautiful. we've been there many times and there have always been dolphins in the river.

Edisto is a great place for cycling. Bike paths at the beach and on the island itself in the state park.

The only grocery store is a small Piggly Wiggly but the folks there are friendly and helpful.

You would be about an hour or less out of Charleston, a couple of hours from Beaufort (Byoo-fort) and 2 1/2 to three from Savannah.

They do a Low Country Boil onsite (Tuesday I think) and it is good. Activities depend on the time of year. Several nice places to get seafood.

George and Pink's vegetable stand is a good place for fresh veggies in season. The Sea Cow is a nice small restaurant. Whaley's is a good local bar/restaurant. (small but with lots of character)

              Enjoy Edisto.
