Sheraton Desert Oasis vs. Westin Kierland

So I had my option this morning for President's Week 2011 and we went with Sheraton Desert Oasis. Partly b/c we could check in Sunday instead of Friday, but partly because we have already stayed at Kierland and while we enjoyed it, my DH felt like the activities were centered at the resort and not the villas. I guess it's the "stepchild" feel he didn't love although we did like our villa.

Has anyone stayed at both to compare? We are in a 1BR with full kitchen to the larger half. I read good reviews on Desert Oasis so I am hoping I made the ok choice...I still have until tomorrow to cancel my exchange!

I think you will enjoy the SDO. The larger one bedroom is comfortable, a bit smaller than Westin is, but the plus is that SDO has a full stove (w/oven)....the MBR has a jacuzzi tub, and there are 2 fireplaces, one in the MBR and one in the LR.

The pools are very nice, and there is a "quiet" pool for folks who like a bit more quiet than the main pool.

There are activities all week, and they are easy to participate in, right there at the resort.

The bathroom is shared (2 doorways: one from MBR and one from LR side)...two sinks, and the toilet/shower has a sliding pocket door that will give privacy while someone uses the sinks.

Lighting is very good, and furnishings comfy.

Thanks so much! It sounds great. Now if only we get good weather as our stay at the Westin last Feb. was rainy!

Have a 4 AM pick up to the airport. Will be spending the week at the SDO.
