Marriott Grand Chateau unit

I just booked a studio sleeps 4 for MLK weekend. I wanted to get a 1 bedroom but it has not come in for the Friday check in since I started looking over a year ago. I have 24 hours to cancel this. Should I take the studio or should I wait and hope that the 1 bedroom comes in.

Frank: IMHO, i'd take the studio and run... I have been coming up with zilch with my searches, unless i want to stay outside the action at the grandview.

Besides, I want to hear your opinion of this joint.

I don't know if a 1 bdrm will turn up for MLK weekend. However, I will tell you that there is a huge difference between the studio and the one bedroom.

Do you think you would at least be able to get another studio if you let this one go. If so, I'd wait a little while longer in hopes of grabbing the one bedroom. They are just so much nicer. If you decide to wait, I can also keep my eyes open for a 1bdrm for you......

The problem is - the Friday check-in for MLK weekend....if it is just you and Jackie - take the studio - you are going to be eating out anyway.
For the 3 of you, it will be tight.

Yes I have had a search in place for a while. I can get the same units that Bruce posted but I can not seem to get the 1 bedroom for that Friday Check in.

I just called the GC, The woman said that the room is nice but does not have the Plasma TV or washer and dryer. They both have King beds but the size of the room is about half including the smaller kitchen. This is a tough call as if I let this go I might be waiting another year. My II rep feels that by Dec she thinks the larger units will be banked. By that time I might be paying more for air which right now is crazy at $350 PP RT from NY. I always have seen air goibg for $200 PP. I could book the air now and cross my fingers that the unit comes in. If it does not then I grab what ever I can.

Frank, as I understand it RCI you allow you to reinbruse me for the cost of the trade and a guest certifacate.

I will give you the points for free for a one bedroom if you want to stay at Summer Bay(Ferns old resort) or the other two in Las Vegas for a 3 day stay. The Cliffs is were we now own a EY week 42 and a TA week 37 or we can book the Grand View.

Frank, I don't blame you for wanting to stay at the new Marriott's Grand Chateau. It is not on the strip but it is in walking distance of the Bellagio. Gary D. posted some great pictures here:

I love the pictures of Las Vegas at night. We stayed at two of the HGVC timeshares but not at the best one where the action is. We tried to find it but didn't realize that it was part of the Flamengo casino. Could you trade into the Flamingo too?
