  • Scottsdale, Arizona Questions

Has anyone stayed at Scottsdale Links Resort - II - SDK, or Scottsdale Villa Mirage - II - SVG or SV2 in Scottsdale, Arizona? If so, what did you think? We are looking to do a week in Phoenix after a week in Sedona the middle of October.

I don't know anything about those resorts

But in October this year the temps were in the low 100's in October in Scottsdale. Just a thought, Greg

We have stayed in the Scottsdale Links Resort in October for the past 2 years. It is warm, but they have a beautiful pool area and it is close to shopping, golfing, parks, etc. It cools off in the evening and makes for some nice strolls around Scottsdale. Just depends on what you are looking for.

Is the 100 degree temp dry heat like Vegas or hot humility heat like in Virginia or Florida ?

I was planning a trip for late September or early October to Arizona; but with the temps in the 100 degree range.

I think, I will stay home.

          .
It is generally really dry heat. So if you are in the shade and not exerting yourself, it isn't all that bad. If you find that you feel warm/over-heating, grab something with ice in it.

I've hiked in the Pinacle Peak area in the upper 90's and felt pretty good.

But, I'm interesting in what people thought who stayed at the Links.

            River,
We were at the Scottsdale Links 5 nights during Labor Day last year. It was very pleasant. Because of the holiday weekend it was full, which surprised us taking the weather into account. But plenty of lounge chairs in the shade, covered outdoor ramadas around the pool areas, surging water fountains, and convenient location. We drove to the Villa Mirage as it's in very close proximity. We walked around the resort and it looked equally nice. You can park right next to your unit, but I don't recall elevators, so you might want a downstairs unit. There aren't really views from the higher rooms. There were plenty of guests golfing in September, but they tried to get done before noon. We're not golfers and chose the resort for it's location near the Musical Instrument Museum which intrigued us, and we had a family reunion in the area as well. So, in other words, don't let the high temps keep you away. It's dry like Palm Springs or Las Vegas; nothing like DC or Virginia.

I lived in Phoenix and frequently visit there now. October is a great month with an average high temp of 88. It is a dry heat though it can get humid in August. I wouldn't worry about the heat at all if I were you.

Don't let the temps scare you away! October is a beautiful month in Arizona! The heat is a dry heat and the only really hot part of the day is from about 2-5 in the afternoon...a perfect time to spend at the beautiful pool. Seriously! The Links was a great resort, not too busy that time of year, and a very nice place to visit!

I go to Scottsdale in October almost every year. The weather is great. There are a few scenic drives if temps get to be to much which is rare.

I live in AZ and October is generally nice. If you are looking for golf, courses close for 1-2 weeks in Oct sometime for overseeding so check the course you want to play for schedules.

It can get warm in Oct but it will cool off at nite. Temps can drop 30deg from day to nite.

                    Hope this helps.
