  • Grandview las vegas timeshare cost?

I just bought a timeshare at Grandview las vegas and I got 80,000 points also bonus 4 weeks with up the 5 rooms I paid 22,999 and maintenence fees are $685 a year. I am just wondering what others have paid, I bought this in Jan 5 2012

I own at the Grandview, I bought in 2005 but back then it was for fixed weeks, not points. The price you paid is very close to what I paid back then. They have since tried to get me to change over to points for an extra cost of $8,000 needless to say I told them to stick it where the Sun don't shine.
I was very green back then and it was only afterwards that I found out what you could actually get a Timeshare for in the Re-sale market, i.e $1 on E.Bay + closing costs. It's a shame you didn't contact this site, or Tugs, earlier as most people would have told you to rescind the sale within the first 5 days of buying it, and buy on the resale market.
Since I am well over the original purchase I can honestly say that you have purchased at a really good Timeshare resort, we love our vacations at the Grandview and having been travelling on the Timeshare circuit for the last 7 years, I hold the Grandview in very high standing against other resorts we've been to, certainly not the very best but very much in the top 3.

Thank you for the info. I feel bad that I paid so much for something that I didn't know anything about. I actually have not maid a payment yet. My first payment is due 1 mar and I don't know is there anything that I could do. Or am I just stuck with paying for this overpriced TS. Thank you for any help that I can get.

I too just purchased at GrandView

We bought a 1 Bdrm week 35 and 49,000 RCI points biannial (even years) for $10,000 Cdn. The purchase also included an RCI membership with 1 extra vacation week per year. I have had a GeoHoliday week (20,000 points odd years) for a few years now and felt that this purchase at GrandView would give me more options when it came to TS choices. I had been considering an RCI membership thru Geo inorder to give me more resorts to choose from so now I intend to bank both TSs with RCI.
bkelley22, did you get and RCI membership when you did the purchase?

I'm not sure at this stage of the game if the RCI membership is a good thing.

Plenty of people on this site have lost faith with RCI, and don't have to many good words for them, I'm not among that group. My dealings with RCI have been very good. I have 2 timeshare accounts, one is a weeks account through the Grandview and the other is a points account. They both come under the same umbrella, so I only pay the one RCI fee.
I have had many rewarding holidays through RCI and have used my points for 2 night stays, Last call vacations and flights as well as the normal weeks vacations. It has opened up a whole new world of possibilities when picking out vacations, whilst I see my friends and workmates going to Cuba & Dominican R. year after year. No thanks I like to spread my horizons and RCI has helped me do that.
