  • Good areas in Arizona in March?

I'm looking for something for the last week in March. We've never been to the Grand Canyon. We have been to several parts of Arizona and have never been to one that we don't like. I'm pretty sure we would enjoy any area. However, I'd like to exclude Sedona, only because I want to see stuff that I haven't already seen.

We like to sightsee and take nature hikes. We'd love to visit the Grand Canyon, but don't need to if it's a bad time of year for that.

What are some of the best resorts or areas for end of March normally?

What is the closest airport? Is it Phoenix?

Scottsdale and Phoenix are very popular at that time of year.

I own a Havasu week that was just a killer trader with a check-in of ~30March. (Not anymore). Big spring break destination.

The elevation is 7000 feet at the canyon so it will be cold. Flagstaff is closest and I would guess that is mid 50's to mid 60's near the end of March. Phoenix and Tuscon are high 70's. Lots of nice resorts in Phx but I'm not sure which ones are near hiking trails. Sheraton Desert Oasis is nice. Great pool and hot tub. We stayed a Painted Mountain in 2000 and it was nice back then. I've driven past the Worldmark in Oro Valley and it looks nice from the outside. Mount Lemmon is close by.
