[QUOTE=mshatty]These are the RCI resorts that are near or in San Antonio. There are also a couple of II resorts in or near San Antonio, such as Fairfield Riverwalk Suites.

I visited FairField Riverwalk. I thought it was nice, not quite the pure luxury of some FF. It is on Riverwalk, and if I got a change for the right $$ I would buy a week there. I don't remember if some rooms had balconies over the walk or not. Sept will be nice and warm...and muggy! But you'll like it.

If your party has mobility problems, call the front desk about 3 weeks out and they might be able to put you in an easy access unit.
I have a 6/6 with full kitchen and W/D it's 1200+s/f.. I wonder if that will change as the time approaches. I also checked on an extra vacation which RCI has for the same week (Oct. 13, 2007) for $290.00..pretty cheap.

thanks to everyone for all the suggestions and recommendations!

Make sure you let us know what you think of the resort when you come back.

i will, it looks and sounds pretty good. fairly close to everything and also sounds if I didn't want to go anywhere, I don't have to.
they had a unit on ebay yesterday for 100.00..I'm sure there will be more, If I like it there, I may just pick one up. Still looking for one more timeshare.

That unit was nice lock-out right across from the activity center. The only problem is that week 40 is after Labor day and some of the summertime activities have shut down for the season.

I picked up a week 32 lock-out for $130. Another Summer week went for ~$750 a few weeks ago.You will want to be careful with units 1-91, these are older, non-lockout condos. I have not personally seen the inside of these, but if they are like the ones in the Villages have the master bathroom in a corner of the master bedroom with no divider. A little too open for my liking.

If you buy at Hill Country you can use your Bonus Time in Western MA at their OAK N' SPRUCE RESORT in Lee MA.

At Hill Country, that is a Presidential, they are really nice. It will be located quite a way from the activity center.

See vinolover's photos of Silverleaf's Piney Shore Presidential it will be very similar.

The reviews are gone (at least I can't find them) from RCI and was wondering if any one had any ideas or thoughts as to where to stay or if there is a better time to go. I don't know if they get alot of rain in the fall and I am open to ideas as to what to do.
I already have January and May booked for vacation, so I figured the fall would be a good time to plan to go.
A few responses to some of the posts on this thread.

                  1) The best time to come is between Thanksgiving and CHristmas, while the riverwalk is lit up. The weather is perfect.

                  2) September isn't what anyone outside Texas would call Fall, it's the hottest month of the year around here, usually.

                  3) The rainy season is April/May

                  4) The Hyatt timeshares are actually located on the grounds of the Hyatt Hill Country resort/hotel/conference center. Probably a very difficult exchange, whether direct exchange or through II.

                  5) The Silverleaf resort is too far away, with little to do anywhere nearby. No decent restaurants either.

                  6) I'd recommend a hotel room on the riverwalk vs. a timeshare that's not on the riverwalk. That's the area you'll probably spend the most time.

The Bonus Time Program allows Silverleaf members to schedule 1, 2, or 3-night stays at eligible Silverleaf resorts all throughout the year, based on availability and type of membership. This benefit is extended to owners in addition to the fixed deeded week.

Owners of Getaway resorts are eligible to schedule Bonus Time at any of the following seven (7) resort locations, and only in standard units (cabin, lodge, or town home):
                    1. Apple Mountain Resort (Georgia)
                    2. Fox River Resort (Illinois)
                    3. Holly Lake Ranch Resort (Texas)
                    4. Lake O' The Woods Resort (Texas)
                    5. Piney Shores Resort (Texas)
                    6. Timber Creek Resort (Missouri)
                    7. The Villages Resort (Texas)

Owners of Destination resorts are eligible to schedule Bonus Time at all of the Silverleaf resort locations with the exception of the Orlando Breeze Resort, and only in standard units (cabin, lodge, or town home):
                    1. Apple Mountain Resort (Georgia)
                    2. Fox River Resort (Illinois)
                    3. Holly Lake Ranch Resort (Texas)
                    4. Lake O' The Woods Resort (Texas)
                    5. Piney Shores Resort (Texas)
                    6. Timber Creek Resort (Missouri)
                    7. The Villages Resort (Texas)
                    8. Hill Country Resort (Limited Bonus Time) (Texas)
                    9. Holiday Hills Resort (Missouri)
                    10. Oak 'N Spruce Resort (Massachusetts)
                    11. Ozark Mountain Resort (Missouri)
                    12. Seaside Resort (Limited Bonus Time) (Texas)

Owners of Presidential Suites are eligible to schedule Bonus Time at all of the Silverleaf resort locations with the exception of the Orlando Breeze Resort, and in standard units or Presidential Suites when available. *This applies even if the Presidential membership is at a Getaway resort.*

Bonus Time reservations may be requested no more than 14 days in advance of the arrival date, and your account must be current to take advantage of this program.

Bonus Time reservations may be requested for one, two, or three consecutive nights at a time. Sunday through Thursday nights are absolutely FREE; Friday and Saturday nights are available for only $49.95 each night.

Bonus Time check in time is from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. on the day of arrival. Presidential and Chairman owners may check in as early as 4 p.m.

Bonus Time check-out time is no later than 10:00 a.m. on the day of departure. Presidential and Chairman owners may check out up until 12 noon.

Back to back Bonus Time reservations are not permitted. Once a Bonus Time stay is completed, there must be at least seven (7) days from check-out date to the next check-in date. Also, Bonus Time may not be requested during the time period of your normally scheduled, deeded week.

Priority for Bonus Time is based on the number of times an owner has used the Bonus Time Program in the last twelve (12) months, and the date the request was made. Those owners with the least amount of usage will receive priority.

Confirmed Bonus Time reservations that are not canceled at least 48 hours prior to check-in are subject to a $50.00 no-show fee.

Bonus Time reservations may be requested by phone or may be placed online. When making a request, one of the following will happen:
                    1. If an availability exists, the reservation will be confirmed and you will receive a confirmation number.
                    2. If an availability does not exist, you will be asked to provide your top three choices of resorts for your requested dates. When an opening becomes available, you will be contacted and asked if you wish to accept the reservation. There is no penalty for declining a reservation.
There are some other programs, but they are grandfathered to the owners of those programs originally and upgrades to include those older programs must be purchased at developer prices. We have one one week that has the Endless Escapes bonus time that allows us to stay up to 6 days without any charges.

We have been told of a new resort in Colorado but as far as I know, there is no Bonus Time available there.

                      Hyatt Wild Oak

You can get some great rates for Preview Packages here through Owner referrals, this is a wonderful resort. We own here and we love it. 1 mile from Sea World. Granite counter tops, 42 inch plasma tv, indoor/outdooe pools with slidesIMO, much better than all other Resorts in this area by far. I will be happy to get you a referral set-up, just email me contact info.
