Any recommendations for non timeshare lodging in Santa Fe. We currently have an SFX exchange the first full week in April 2014 to Maui. That is the good news, the bad news is there are five of us and the airfare is currently really high! So we are looking at alternatives, if it doesn't come down. Santa Fe is our first choice, if we have to cancel Hawaii.

We've loved Inn of the Governors. We've gotten it on Priceline bids. We've also gotten The Lodge on Priceline--but it isn't right on the plaza. It isn't on the plaza, but El Rey Inn is delightful. Forgot to say that there is a 4* or 4 1/2* hotel listed on Priceline that might be Hotel Chimayo....or Inn of the Governors. Also, the timeshare Villas de Santa Fe rents to non-timeshare people, and it's only 5 blocks from the plaza, an easy walk.Last edited by Pstreet1; 08-21-2013, 08:13 PM."You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity." We have stayed at the El Rey Inn on Cerrillos. What we liked is that they had some two bedroom casitas that were almost like a timeshare. The casitas have a full kitchen. Breakfast is provided and there is a pay laundry onsite. It's within walking distance of one of our favorite places for breakfast or lunch, The Pantry. Downside is it's not very close to the Plaza so you can't walk there.Luanne

Is is possible that one or more of you can sign up for Alaska Airlines and get the companion ticket? It may work out that you could fly to seattle or Portland or LAX on the cheap and then take Alaska Air to Maui. If you have a companion ticket, one person would fly RT for a little over $100. If you were able to get 2 different cards (different applicants), then 2 of your party could fly on companion tickets.
I hate to see you cancel a trip to Maui.

the units are all different but very charming.
They have two bedrooms that may sleep five but only have one bathroom.
they have a lovely courtyard for hanging out.
We met a few owners who go every year out in the courtyard.
