  • Otra Vez en Santa Fe Questions

I have a unit on hold and have some questions: 1. Do they have elevators? 2. How is the weather in mid March? 3. Since there are so few units at this resort, do you get the unit that was deposited? Any other information would be appreciated.

We've both stayed there several times and now live in Santa Fe.

    1. Yes they have elevators.

    2. Weather mid-March can be iffy. Today it's glorious. Last week we had a couple feet of snow. Most likely it will still be chilly, but most likely sunny. Our first trip to Santa Fe was in March and we got a few flakes here.

    3. I don't know about unit assignment. I will tell you that the units we have stayed in have been a bit "tired" when it comes to furnishings and décor, but we absolutely love the location. It's the closest timeshare to the Plaza. And having free parking in that area is huge.

I can give you lots of other information, but need more specific questions.

What types of things do you want to do while you are here? Are you into outdoor activities? Art, music, day trips? Are you looking for restaurant recommendations?

Feel free to PM me if you'd like.

        I loved this little resort.
I rented from them directly though so not sure about room assignments.
I did meet a group of ladies who owned two units and meet up every year.
They always got their owned units so I imagine you'd get what was deposited as is the case with most small fixed week resorts.
They have a small courtyard where guests hang out and mix and mingle.
It's not a sponsored event but we met lots of people in the courtyard and we all shared our wine.

The resort is a former jail where they held Billy the Kid.
        Nice historic landmark resort.

As Luanne said, great location, free parking but you will be walking to everything.
It's a small town and easier to walk than find parking.

There is one of those hop-on, hop-off kind of trolleys, more an open-air truck than trolley.
We used that to get around and to get our bearings, then used the car to do the artist loop of the galleries up in the hills.
We did a day trip to Taos, you'll need a car for that. Nice little artsy ski town.
There is a Trader Joe's nearby to stock the fridge.

To me the rooms were very quaint. Beautiful American Indian bedspreads, saltillo tile and stone fireplaces.
The furniture was a rustic style but we pretty much just hung out in the courtyard when home but in March may not be possible.
Only downside was the 2 bedrooms only had 1 bathroom that was in between the 2 rooms.
I guess being a historic resort they had limitations on what they could do.
But that was the only downside IMO except for the high altitude. I would go back anytime.

          Here's a review I did when I went a few years ago:

Thanks for the information. Since we are taking our Grand daughter, I think we will look for something a little warmer.
