Shell Vacation Club Las Vegas

Has anyone stayed at the Las Vegas Shell? Do you think it is necessary to rent a car? Is it within walking distance of the monorail or other casinos?
We have traveled to Las Vegas many times but never stayed at this particular timeshare. Is it nice? Is there a particular room we should request? We have a two-bedroom unit.

I have never stayed at this resort. Two reviews that I saw had opposing opinions... One gave it a "5" rating, the other an "8".
According to one review, it is convenient/walkable to the strip.

My last trip to the strip,I skipped the rental car and used grayline at the airport for a roundtrip pass at ~10 bucks per person. This worked well for me, since i had done the hoover damn and outer lying areas stuff.
