My wife and I loved the place and plan to return.....it just there is not much to do there for a week with young kids compared with other locations."If a Nation expects to be ignorant and free in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.... If we are to guard against ignorance and remain free, it is the responsibility of every American to be informed."

4ARed, yes, I think that is why some young families find a week in Sedona a bit much...but some folks do try to combine a sort of history lesson for some of their kids who are of an appropriate age: tours thru ruins or up to Hopi Mesa to introduce them to a different and important culture; horse back riding or a visit to Blazin M Ranch or a Day in The West; discovering the geological info found in a jeep tour or Grand Canyon tour...and sometimes folks just enjoy the resort activities and pools. But for most families, Orlando offers a heck of a lot more active lifestyle that keeps young ones much more amused.Life is short, live it with this awareness.

Thanks for the note.....we are not Orlando (or Florida) fans at all...we live 10 minutes from the original Disneyland.....we would take the kids to Sedona before Orlando any day...but that is personal bias.
I agree with the history lesson, nature, environment....etc. We do that where ever we go and it is a great point. We did pass through Sedona with a group of relatives (young kids included) and it was great and we visited several places of historical significance...I just don't see how we could do it for a week and we are 'weeks' timeshare travelers....so score one for the points crowd.
We plan to go for a full week when the kids are of a more appropriate age...and they may make us live to regret it but so far so good in our travels...the kids are just happy to be with family no matter where we go.
