  • Beware Of Tahiti Village Las Vegas!!!!!

First of all, I just read a post by a bitter Timeshare seller and this is not about disappointment in the presentation. It's about out and out LYING!!!! The fact of the matter is, Phase II was sold to us with the VERBAL understanding that it would be done by Oct 07. Not true. I also asked, point blank, that if we made our week reservation prior to that, would it be a problem that Phase II wasn't done yet. The answer was this: "Phase I, Phase II, there's no difference. When you call to make your reservation you will stay in whatever room is available. Of course you can make your reservation a year in advance for 2007, no restrictions". No true. Our first year of ownership started in 2007 but unless we want to wait to make our reservation until 37 days prior, we're out of luck! But of course we can trade our year with Interval or just wait to use our week until the Phase II is done, doesn't that sound inviting for a couple who just spent A LOT of money on a vacation that cannot use it in the way it was intended? Not to mention the USELESS "free" Holiday Adventure trips. What a hoax! They literally cost more to use that if you just go down and book the exact same trip with a travel agent after you figure in all of the hidden fees.
If anyone can give me any advice or more infor, I would greatly appreciate it. We are going for an owner revisit on Nov 29th. I also reported them to the Better Business Bureau, actually found out there were quite a few already and they acually new the owner by name!! Scarry, heh???!!!
    Thanks so much!!!

    Score Sales 1 - Buyer 0

You fell hook line and sinker for a fairly standard presentation. Had you checked with the BBB first, and understood the complaints, you might have avoided this. It's far too late to recind so you really need to stop being consumed with bitterness over the deal and now move ahead to use it to the best potential possible. Don't let them push you around anymore. If you are paying 2007 fees (I'm not clear if you are based on your post) then you have a right to a 2007 use - and not by waiting until 30+ days out either. If you aren't entitled to 2007 use because your building doesn't exist yet you shouldn't owe 2007 fees. The purchase cost actually has nothing to do with use - it merely got your name on the list of annual users. The annual fees pay for the use - and those don't stop until you sell someday. Read the paperwork for what you bought carefully and be sure you get whatever you have coming. What they told you means nothing - what that paperwork says is the gospel.

      Thanks!

As much as I don't want to hear it, you're right! It just kills me that I am really a good researcher and I hate being made to feel "taken to the cleaners!" Thanks for the info, I just wish there was some way to get at them. We just got our bill for 2007 fees and it really made us mad. We have odd year usage which means we pay a total of $360 per odd years. So they break it down to $180 each year. 2007 is supposed to be our 1st year to use it. They told us we could stay at one of the other two Las Vegas resorts if we wanted or just save it. Oh well, hind sight is 20/20! Right now I was on a timeshare resale site and could have bought a 2 bed annually for less than we paid for the odd year 1 bed, AAHHH!!!
      Thanks again!

My cousin bought here from the developer even after I told them not to. They like the place so if that's what they wanted they got it.

Don't have a problem with Tahiti Village

          Hi,
We bought at Tahiti Village and yes, we were a little ticked that the Holiday Adventures aren't great, but I sort of already knew that having dealt with some "free" vacations in the past. If you buy a timeshare for the extras, you aren't really buying it for the right reason.

We bought in Vegas simply for the trading power and trading power we have. Not only Vegas, but my first time, I got Christmas week. It's really all about where you buy and the trading power that place has - unless you really love your timeshare and are planning on staying there almost every time.

I DO agree that Tahiti Village shouldn't be allowed to tell people they'll upgrade them to 12 getaway vacations per year, when unlimited getaways seems to be standard II bonus (we might have looked around some more), but so far we are really happy with Tahiti Village and II. We are staying in Sedona for a week next week, and then going to Orlando for a week (upgraded to 3 bedroom so extended family can go with) week after Thanksgiving - great time to go, but no lines! I wish it was easier to trade to non-US places, but all in all, we're pretty happy with our TV timeshare and II.

Surely we're not the only people happy with our purchase. We may have spent too much, but we are going to take a vacation every year now for the rest of our lives and, for a family that hadn't taken a vacation in over 10 years, that's truly fantastic!

Wow, brand new here and dredging up a 2006 post. We're all glad you're happy with Tahiti Village in South Las Vegas, they are a selling machine with national TV and radio ads. I find it very hard to believe that an overbuilt place like Vegas gives you such great trading power, but any ratty timeshare can pull most anything the week after Thanksgiving in Orlando.
... not enough time for all the timeshares ®
