I have a 2-bedroom unit reserved for Christmas 2007 at Arroyo Roble Resort. Now, it seems like we may have a few more people wanting to join us. There are 1-bedroom units available at Sunterra Sedona Summit (4038), Sunterra The Ridge (4061), Sedona Pines (4968), and Los Abrigados (2026). Are any of these close to Arroyo Roble? I would really appreciate some information on these resorts. Also, if my daughter and husband went for only 4 or 5 days would it be cheaper to rent (not a timeshare)? Thanks so much!

Sedona Pines can't be more than a mile or so down the road(same road) from Arroyo Roble Resort. Pines is on the outskirts of the town, Arroya is right in town.
I stayed at Sedona Pines and I liked it. These are like mini mobile homes, but the interiors are really upscale. The one bedroom accomodates 2 well. They are ~ 400 sq ft. http://www.sedonapines.com/
Good luck!Bill

Not exactly, Sedona Pines is not a mile away, it is clear on the other side of town, which isn't so easy to get to with all the traffic and lights ...Pines would not be a choice for us.
If you can get Los Abrigados or Hyatt, those would be the closest to AR. The Summit is close to the Pines, but if you had to choose between Pines or Summit, I wouldn't choose the Pines. But this is JMHO. The Villas of Poco Diablo is along HWY 179, about a ten minute drive from the AR.
The Villas of Sedona or Sedona Springs are great spots, and closer than the Pines, but a bit further out than Los Abrigados. These two resorts are sister resorts, close to the grocery and about a ten minute drive or less from AR.Life is short, live it with this awareness.

So, sorry urple for such a curt reply above....but yes, it is definitely scenic drive! I was too hasty in trying to respond, and I see it doesn't read very nicely....again, so sorry!
I must add, The Ridge is in the Village of Oak Creek and is the furthest away from AR....but it is a lovely resort...however with the HWY 179 construction, I wouldn't recommend one party being at AR and the other party being at The Ridge...not at all convenient.Life is short, live it with this awareness.

Muriel, that is a great choice, especially since the LA resort has their million lights for the holidays at the time you will be visiting...the displays this year are terrific! You will all enjoy the choice! There also is a great spa at LA, and three very good restaurants! Now, onto Christmas 2008 plans!Life is short, live it with this awareness.

I love LA. Can't wait to return April 1st. I'm glad to hear some positive feedback, since I'm used to reading negative comments about the limited kitchen facilities, dark interior, etc. For me, I love to relax in the eucalyptus steam bath and whirlpool. I had the best massage and pedicure/reflexology treatment in their awsome spa. It's also nice to stroll through the shops at Tlaquepaque, next to the resort. There are great restaurants in Sedona, some are onsite. I'm not upset that I can't cook elaborate meals at Los Abrigados, I'm on vacation for goodness sake! Now after reading these posts, I want go go back at Christmastime! What's the temperature then?AKA "Mimi" from Toms River, NJ on TUG
