  • Request Building/Unit at Villas of Sedona

We have a two bedroom with loft unit at the Villas of Sedona starting March 9, 2007. Is there a building and/or unit that we should request?

We stayed there a couple of years ago in a 2/bdrm w/ loft. It is a very small complex and all units are different configurations. I'm not sure how many are that size. I think it was a private condo complex at one time. All units are recently referbished. If you like to barbeque ask to be at the east end (where there is a pleasant patio & barbeques.) They are in a sort of circle with parking around the outside & the pool & gameroom & indoor pool in the center. All rooms face inward & none really have a view of red rocks.

We really liked this resort. Big units w/ fireplace. Nice pool & hot tub. Small playground & putting green.Easy access in & out. Close to grocery stores.

We bought at Villas of Sedona in 1993, and never had the idea they were reconverted anything. They all looked new to us. Of course, that was our first introduction to timeshares.
Some are configured a little differently, but I can't imagine preferring one over another. I think you'll enjoy whichever one you are assigned. Have fun! Jean

We are planning to book two weeks (back to Back weeks) in Sedona for August 2007.

I am looking at the following resorts: Scottsdale Villa Mirage, The Ridge on Sedona Golf Resort, Sedona Springs Sedona Sumimt and the Villas of Sedona.

Are these very nice and quiet resorts? Also is the weather hot and humid like in the state of VA?

Hot, yes, very hot. Humid, nope, none, nada.

Ryne08, the Scottsdale Villa Mirage is in Scottsdale...about two hours south of Sedona.

The Sedona resorts are mostly quiet, active but quiet. In August, you will find temps can hit high 90s to over 100...sunscreen and water and a hat are musts!

I don't want to disagree with my good friend, mshatty, as he sure does know what humidity is (Texas humidity)....but here in Arizona in August, if we are lucky, we will be enjoying our monsoon season, and that means humidity rises. Gee, it can be above 45% humidity.

If you have a choice, I would recommend the Springs or Villas of Sedona for their location and management. The Ridge, while it is listed as in Sedona, it is actually in the Village of Oak Creek, and that is where the mess of construction is happening thru the summer. The Ridge is okay, but it is farther out, on the western edge of the city...the Springs and VOS are mid-city, and offer easy access to all the avenues of interest, and have convenient access (you can walk) to the supermarket and drugstore.

45% humidity and our skin flakes off in Texas! That would mean you just don't need to use as much skin lotion as you normally would. (Sorry, katiemack, I couldn't resist).

In case it was missed on the other Sedona thread, Villas of Sedona was once a condo development that didn't quite make it, so it was converted into timeshare...early 90s...and there are slight differences in configuration of the units.

There are no views from first floor of units, but some second floor units may see a little bit more than other units, depending on where you find yourself. The resort is sort of tucked down and back from Hwy 89a, and I am told the best chance of seeing any view might be from units close to the barbeques. But most folks find themselves out of the unit most of the day, so views are not so critical....can't see much at night

Glad we can help, Ryne. And mshatty sure is a funny guy! You would love him!
