Las Vegas - NASCAR weekend

Guess it just dawned on me that we will be in Las Vegas during Nascar weekend. Certainly NOT the reason we're going those dates. Has anyone been there during this event? Does it really bring in a huge crowd? Any words of advice?

I guess my main question is, how easy will it be to avoid any mayhem from this?

While NASCAR is one of the most popular weekends in town, we've never really felt it was much more crowded than most other weekends. Weekends in Vegas are always pretty darn busy.

Thanks. Maybe Saturday will be the day to head out to Hoover Dam.
