  • Best II timeshare in Vegas for kids?

We are possibly heading to Vegas this summer since we met our friends last summer and had a great week. I see Marriott Grand Chateau, Desert Paradise, and others. I assume Marriott would be the "nicest", but is it nice for families? The pool looks small from the photos I have seen. Is parking terrible? We love FF Grand Desert b/c of the pools and the easy parking...what do you think? Any other recommendations?

Check out Tahiti Village. It's a bit further down the strip, but it is first rate and awesome for kids!!

Marriott would not be my first choice with kids. They have a very small pool and there just isn't a lot for them to do around the resort. Other resorts I'd avoid with kids would be Jockey Club and Polo Towers.

Sunterra's Desert Paradise is quite a ways off the strip and didn't have that great of a pool when we last toured the resort, but that's been years ago and a couple of ownership changes and/or bankruptcy's.

I second the thought about Tahiti Village if their pool complex with lazy river is complete. It's set up more like a timeshare resort than just a timeshare. Monarch's Cancun has been reported as a very nice family resort and I'd assume that Worldmarks resort isn't bad either. Grandview is 5 miles south of Mandalay Bay but is right next door to South Point Casino which has a very nice movie theater and some decent restaurants.

Tahiti is a couple of miles south of Mandalay Bay and not to far north of the Las Vegas Outlet Mall. It's pretty close to the flight paths at McCarren airport so I'm not certain what the noise would be like. On the other hand, the kids might enjoy watching the planes taking off.

Thank you both. I was worried that the Marriott wouldn't be the best choice, and I drove by Tahiti Village last summer. We don't care about being near the strip as we only pop in and out for specific activities/shopping/dining. I will read some more reviews on the resorts mentioned and then see what II has available.

I just returned from Worldmark Las Vegas today. I'd call it family friendly. 4 pools, lazy river, rec room, shuffle board, basketball, activities. It's south of the strip-but that suited us fine as we went to boat on Lake Mead. There is a shuttle to the casinos and outlet mall. As far as the flight pattern-you can see the planes taking off-but I never heard them. We had a nice 2bd over looking the south pool.

We did have someone enter our room and take our milk. Sounds stupid-but a theft is a theft and I am still sorting out the details-our room was left in a bit of disarray-trash on the floor, toaster taken apart and over turned-other stupid stuff. I am a WM owner and this is unacceptable. It's a long story-security did run a check on our electronic door and advise us that it was housekeeping that entered but why would housekeeping leave a room in worse condition than when they entered. Las Vegas is a tough town to live in. I know this. I can keep you advised of the outcome. Without this experience I would give the resort a total thumbs up-good luck in your decision.

That proves that Vegas is NOT for kids!

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas....except for your milk.

              Monarch Cancun Resort

I stayed at this resort several years ago. It was great for my kids. Has a pyramid with waterslides (great for 7yr+), huge pool, the even had a kids night where they entertained the kids for several hours while the parents could get away for awhile if they wanted to. Rooms were very nice. We had a 2 bedroom.

Sunterra spent a lot of money there after acquiring Desert Paradise, including a new pool, as I recall. It is also a gated property with covered parking and shuttle service so could be a good choice.

The Wyndham/Fairfield Grand Desert has a very nice resort that includes a walk in pool for families, 3 or 4 outdoor hot tubs/spas, a nice game room, on site activites for all family ages, computer rooms.

When I was there in July, there were lots of families with kids of all ages.

WorldMark Las Vegas - on Las Vegas Blvd. has at least one large pool and a lazy river. My son (9 at that time) and I have a really fun time in the lazy river.
