  • Fairfield Sedona

We just arrived in Sedona this afternoon and this place just never ceases to amaze me. The wonders of the Red Rocks are mesmerizing in their beauty. I would never get tired of this place.

We are staying in the Fairfield Sedona. We got lucky again. Our 2 bedroom deluxe unit is very spacious. We got a second floor unit right next to the pool with a great Red Rock View. I believe we are looking at the same Red Rocks that we could see from the Sedona Summit resort 2 years ago.

This unit has an excellent floor plan and it must be at least 1500 sqft. It seems that timeshare resorts in Sedona are larger than normal.

Since we are next to the pool, we can access the internet through Wifi from our unit. This was a pleasant bonus. The signal isn't strong and we need to be in the second bedroom. But, it's a great option. I am hooked up to my T-mobile dash in the living room since the signal won't reach here.

We drove here from Hemet. It was 421 miles. This is the first major leg in what will be almost 7 weeks of travel. I'll make an effort to put these posts in the place they belong this year.

    More as our journey unfolds....

      Boca,

We stayed at the Fairfield Sedona last Christmas and thought it was a really nice resort too. Have a great trip throughout the West.

            Boca,
How does the Fairfield Sedona compare to Sedona Summit? We'll be staying at Sedona Summit in a 2 BR next summer, and were in a 2 BR unit at Arroyo Roble last summer. We loved the area, and agree that it is a wonderful place to visit.

              Edye,

I'd say that they are about equal. Both have nice floor plans. Very large units. Roughly the same location. The only problem with Sedona Summit is it's pretty far away from town. The Fairfield is a bit closer. I'd definitely stay in either resort without reservation.

How's the weather in Sedona? We are right behind you...coming in a couple weeks. I have never been to Sedona-we're very excited. I had to laugh when you said you drove from Hemet. How does one start out in Hemet? Family maybe?
It's going to be great fun traveling along with you. Looking forward to your thoughts and reviews of the WM resorts you utilize.

                  Happy Travels!

In the owner's directory, the 1Br-B is listed at 558 sq. ft., 1Br-A is listed at 978 sq. ft. and a 2Br Deluxe lis isted at 1,224 sq. ft. The 2Br lockoffs would be over 1,500 square feet.

We went to Sedona for a couple day trips while staying in Flagstaff during Easter a couple year ago. Great views and food. We look forward to a return trip sometime and intend to stay in the Wyndam Sedona.

Please post pictures during your trip Boca. Look forward to following your travels.

                      Happy Travels!

It's very hot during the day and nice and cool at night. I think it's 93 degrees right now with about a 2-3 mph breeze. The best time of day is early in the morning. I am an early riser, so I go for a walk in the very nice cool desert morning. By 9 am, it's too hot to do much outside of air conditioning. It starts cooling off at sunset and gets nice cool by about 9 or 10 pm. Great for sleeping with the windows open at night.

I live where it is pretty humid, so whenever I go to the desert, I need to bring skin lotion.

I don't recall saying anything about WM on this thread, so you must be following what I've said elsewhere. I will be staying in the following resorts on this trip:

                      1) Fairfield Sedona
                      2) WorldMark Pismo Beach
                      3) WorldMark Marina Dunes
                      4) WorldMark San Francisco
                      5) WorldMark Depoe Bay.

This is slightly different than what I had planned earlier in the year. But, it should be just as fun. We stayed in Hemet since my parents live there. I keep a car at their house and use their SUV when we go on these extended vacations. So, believe it or not, staying in timeshares is actually cheaper than living in Hawaii.

We got to Hemet last Wednesday and we will be taking 10 days from Depoe Bay to drive back down to Hemet. We got a nice oceanfront unit in the Redwood forrest area for a couple days through VRBO. Then, we will be visiting relatives down the coast of California like we did last year. That worked well.

As excited as I am about this year's trip. I am more excited about next year. We are going back to Estes Park on our way to West Yellowstone, Banff, Vancouver, Whistler and Vancouver Island.

Timesharing is the best thing ever created. It's better than sliced bread.

                        Boca,

Here's a couple photos to cool you off. I took these at Christmas at FF Sedona. It snowed on us while there.

I promise I'm not stalking you I own Worldmark and participate on WMowners.com. I remember your thread asking about the various resorts to plan this trip. That's how I know.

The weather sounds great. I already live in the desert and it's about the same temp here although we generally have a pretty nice afternoon breeze-haven't used the air cond yet. Hope it holds out for our trip.

Your next trip sounds really awesome. It's fun hearing about your travels-looking forward to all your stops and pictures??? I hope.

Boca, I live between Marina Dunes and San Francisco (near San Jose), so if you would like to get together for coffee (or lunch or whatever) let me know, and I can PM you my cell number.

We are planning to be at Flagstaff and Sedona at the end of March '08. We are hoping for milder temperatures (than the upper 90-s you are experiencing.)

Sounds like a great trip! Are you taking Hwy1 along the coast? We took a look at the Worldmark in Pismo when we were at Avila Bay last year. I'll be interested to hear your critique. Be sure to go take a look at the new Solvang WM, too. I'm envious of your Marina Dunes stay. I grew up in the area & love it there.

Have a great time & please report in often.
