Where would you stay in Sedona?

Lodging recommendations needed for 6 50-something women heading to Sedona early October for a mini-reunion.

Budget is a bit of a concern for some and comfortable beds a must.

All feedback welcomed.

The Wyndham/Fairfield Sedona 2BR is very spacious and very nice resort in the newer part of Sedona. The 2BR we had, had a king in the master and 2 doubles in the 2nd BR. There was also a sleeper sofa. The unit was around 1200 sq ft.

Villas of Sedona and Sedona Springs offer nice accommodations.

Are you looking for a ts exchange or hotel recs?

If you want a hotel, tell me what you find, I will steer you away from those I wouldn't recommend.

Arroyo Roble is a nicely run TS with 2 BR that well accommodate your group, and it has an advantage in location (in the uptown area near local shops and tour launches) and is on the creek, so feels tucked away from the main hub-bub.

Mike's rec for FF is a good one.

I would never recommend the Pines, and while Sedona Summit has large units, it is away from easy access, and there are mixed reviews.

The Ridge is down in the Village of Oak Creek, and will still be affected by some of the construction in the area, I think, in October.

I am a big fan of Sedona having been 6 times in the past 7 years; we are in our 50s.

I love Arroyo Roble. It is not the newest, but the units are large and the layout is nice. It is two floors and has 2.5 baths...also washer and dryer in the unit. The resort is small and located on the creek, but don't expect a creek view unit as they are rentals from the motel up the hill. The location is good as it is an easy walk to uptown and the shops.

The Ridge is also lovely, but it is Oak Creek not Sedona. The units are newer and large. A 2 bedroom is a combo of a 1 bedroom and a studio. There are 2 baths and also washer and dryer. To get to Sedona one must drive.

Sedona Springs and Villas of Sedona share the same site. They are nice units, large and convenient to the Safeway Shopping Center and other shops along the highway. The unit do not have washer dryer in them, but have a laundry area for guests. A car is necessary in my opinion to get to the uptown shops.

Stay away from Sedona Pines. These are maunfactured homes (see trailers) and are in the middle of nowhere.

I have not stayed at Fairfield, but it looks nice and it is located close to the Safeway Plaza.

Sedona Summit is also lovely and it is made as the Ridge (both Sunterra resorts). It is located at what I would consider the end of Sedona nearer to Red Rocks than to the town itself. A car is necfessary to even go to eat. Though it is a little more out of the way I would stay again if there were not 6 of us, or we had 2 cars. That way if some didn't want to do thus and such they would be free to do something else using second car.

Sedona Vacation Club is nice (Los Obrigados0 but it is more difficult to get a 2 bedroom unit. The really nice units they show during the tour I have never seen as exchanges! Washer Dryer are in site and the smaller units do not have a full kitchen. We stayed once with 4 women in a 1 bedroom sleeps 6 and it was adequate, but only 1 bath.

Poco Diablio only has 1 bedroom unit and they sleep a max of 4.

If you are looking for hotel recomendations, I'd use Priceline.com. Both the Radisson and the Hilton are currently accepting Priceline bids of $80.00-$85.00 a night. I would think in October they might be accepting less. Do your research on BiddingFortravel.com - The informed Priceline Travel Bidding Forum and find out how to bid in order to get the most hotel for the least money. Your budget conscious travelers could share a room, and the Priceline rates would make that really reasonable. If you use Priceline.com and bid for a resort in the Sedona area, the Hilton and the Radisson are the only two they use, so you definitely wouldn't get someplace else, and $80-$85 a night is pretty cheap.
