NM and Texas Motel Recommendations

My wife and daughter are going to New Mexico and Texas - Carlsbad Caverns, Roswell, Ruidoso, NM and El Paso, TX. Any recommendations for where to stay?

When at Carlsbad, tell them not to stay at White City even though it is closer to the cavern. White City has a few motels and a restaurant. Everyone from all the motels heads for THE restaurant. They'll never get served unless they are the first in the door. Carlsbad is a real town and a much better place to stay in my opinion.
