  • Sedona or Palm Springs with teen boys in late April...

Looks like air is about the same, maybe a little better for Sedona. I'm also guessing I've got an even chance at a decent exchange in either place. I like warm weather, but since neither has a beach I'm not sure it matters as long as it's not too chilly. We don't golf. We do enjoy mild hiking. The boys would enjoy the pool for a bit, but not a whole week. Does one area have more to do for active teens than another? We wouldn't be doing the trip to Grand Canyon from Sedona.

Thanks for any help. Of course what I really want is a South Florida beach week, but it's a holiday week in New York, so air will be hard and exchanges few and far between...

Sedona. Hands down Sedona. There is a lot to do for the whole family. Casa Lawren would go back and we don't go back to many landlocked places.

Jeep tours, Slide or it might be slip rock Park. Flagstaff, Grand Canyon and for those not afraid of heights the mule rides.

I own in Palm Springs area and although it is great for adults it is not great for older kids.

ETA OK not Grand Canyon. BUT there is the world's oldest rodeo not far and I think in your timeframe and plenty of hiking.

My vote would be Sedona without a second thought!

I went last March and got lots of good info at the following website:Sedona Arizona: Visit Sedona - Visitor, Tourism, Relocation and Media Information

If your boys like to hike there are lots of gorgeous places to hike! We didn't do it but the jeep tours looked like a blast and something teens would get a kick out of!

They are both very good in April. It is a matter of preferences. I have been to Sedona and visit Palm Springs frequently. Sedona is definitely more scenic and a great place to visit. Palm Springs is also very good with lots to do. It all depends on what you are looking for.

Glitter.....I'll be going to Palm Springs in a couple of weeks, so I'll let you know what I think.

I loved Sedona. It's really pretty, and Scottsdale & The Grand Canyon, are great day trips.

I took my daughter and her girl friend there, a couple of years ago, they were 16/17 at the time. They were very underwhelmed with the area. They felt that there wasn't enough for them to do. They don't hike, tho.

If your kids like hiking, jeep tours, hot air balloon rides, the Grand Canyon, and Indian stuff, they will be happy. Also, if they like pools. My DD much prefers the beach. There weren't many kids their age at the pool, so they weren't thrilled with that either.

Girls are very different then boys tho, and my DD, isn't the easiest to please. She and her friends are really beach people.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Having been to both, IMHO I choose Palm Desert over Sedona. Yes, Sedona is much prettier, but the PD area is much bigger with lots more to do. Plus you can drive into LA and go to Six Flags or Universal if you'd like.

Looks like a fairly even split so far. We won't want to drive too far to do things, and Six Flags/Universal/Los Angeles are a definite NO for me. Still holding out for Florida beach, but leaning towards Sedona as a backup. They'd love the jeep tour, for sure. What's to do in Flagstaff?

There is basically nothing to do in Flagstaff. You should consider Phoenix/Scottsdale. Beautiful resorts, great weather and lots to do for everybody. You can make an easy day trip to Sedona to see the rocks which is definitely worth it in my opinion.
