  • Vegas timeshares on the strip

Last year we stayed at the Carriage House on Harmon. DH wasn't too happy because it was too long of a walk for him to go to a casino. So, I am looking for the fall 2009 and would like to know which resort(s) is closer to the strip.

We love the downtown area and may put in an exchange for there, but I was wondering about any others that might fit the bill.

I'll be going there next week.

If I remember correctly, The Suites at Polo Towers, The Carriage House, and the Marriott, where pretty close. There may be others, as well.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

      Have a great time!!
I never think to go there at this time of year. It's usually in the spring or fall for us. How's the weather there at this time?

I think that it's in the low 70's. At least I'm hoping that's what it will be. Of course, it's hit and miss, this time of year.

I didn't really plan in advance on going in March. I just happened to see a 3 bdrm at the Marriott, on line, so I grabbed it. DH can't get off from work, so I'm going with some girlfriends. We're really looking forward to our trip. Keep your fingers crossed for some good weather for us.

            With I.I. your choices are

The Jockey Club: About 1/3 to 1/3 block south of Bellagio and across from Paris but next to construction at the new Cosmopolitan.

Suites and Villa's at Polo Towers: Directly in behind the Hawaiian Marketplace. Closest casino's would be Planet Hollywood 1/4 block north, MGM Grand and Monte Carlo both a little over 1/2 block to the south.

Marriott's Grand Chateau: directly across the street from the back enterance to Planet Hollywood (old Aladdin) but you'll enter through the Miracle Mile shopping mall.

            With RCI:

HGVC at the Flamingo: Closest of all timeshares to any casino. It's directly behind the Flamingo and a short walk across the Flamingo's pool deck/garden area.

HGVC LV Hilton: Just a little north of the Hilton casino and along the Monorail route

HGVC LV Strip: About 1/2 block from the Sahara to the north and Circus Circus and Riviera to the south.

Jockey Club: I'm pretty sure this is a dual affiliated resort.

Sounds like you'll be there the week before we arrive. We're at Grand Chateau starting March 7th in the master suite of our 3 bedroom unit. We're almost always there in March. Most of the time it's in the 70's during the daytime. Night time temps can get a little chilly and my wife often wears a lite jacket in the evenings. I generally get by with blue jeans and t-shirts although on occasion I've needed a sweatshirt at night. Basically we consider it a very pleasant time of the year to go.

Thanks Doug, that gives me a good idea as to distance.

Just keep in mind that a Vegas block is a loooonnnggg block. From door to door either Marriott's Grand Chateau or HGVC's Flamingo are in my estimation the two closest timeshares to a casino door.

HGVC/Flamingo is the closest to a casino. It is a great mid-strip location and shares the amenities of the Flamingo hotel. We have stayed there several times and strongly recommend it for a timeshare. We usually do not like to stay in timeshares in Las Vegas but prefer the hotels. We just got back from Las Vegas last Thursday. We stayed 2 nights at the Silverton and 5 nights at the Paris. The weather was very windy and cold for the first few days but then it improved.

I think this is probably the best fit and also probably the best loction of any timeshare on the strip........for right now. Westgate's Planet Hollywood Towers will have a great location and be directly connected to the Planet Hollywood casino. Eyeballing it though I bet it's just about as far of a walk from PHT into the PH casino as it is from the HGVC Flamingo to the Flamingo's casino floor.

I really wanted the Lady Luck Casino, because it's right downtown (I love downtown) and had heard the inital renovations were supposed to be completed at the end of 2008. But, I did some research and found out the the new date will be in 2011 barring no more delays.
They have completely razed the old building and II stated they aren't even accepting trades from owners. But who knows if there are owners left.

I can't wait to go back to Vegas!!
