Swimming in Phoenix over Christmas?

We are trying to decide if it is worth going to Scottsdale over Christmas because DH thinks if we can't swim/it's not warm enough, he'd rather not go. I assume pools are heated, but is it generally just too cold to swim?

We were at Sheratons Desert Oasis the week of December 7th and we did use their heated pool and Hot tub.

I live here and find it to be rather chilly in December!!! You never know though!
We had friends visiting from La over New Years and they left several days early b/c it was cold and rainy this year. They were staying at the Sheraton desert Oasis.

Thank you both for the input. December seems rather "iffy"...so we are still weighing it. I think ANYWHERE warmer than Salt Lake City sounds good, but DH is another story!
