Wyndham Grand Desert

We have an exchange to Wyndham Grand Desert with a Check-In Date of01/30/2009. This is an RCI non Wyndam exchange.

Any recommendations on request we should make for building, floor, etc.? And how soon in advance should we make the requests.

Do they have free intenet?

I would ask for a higher floor with strip view. Pool view isn't bad either. Try not to get the "ghetto" view of adjacent run down area. I usually call 2 weeks out, and again to confirm 1 week out. So far they have been cooperative whether I use my WYN points or trade in RCI. Either way I mention I am a WYN owner; don't know if that makes any differecne.

We were there in November and wifi in the rooms was something like $6.99 per day or $29ish per week. There are free computer rooms in all 3 towers. I did not have my laptop with me, so do not know if there are any free spots within the resort common areas.

Like was said previously I would start calling about 2 weeks before arrival but I would send an email sooner just inquiring as to room availability.
I can't remember the names of the buildings now, it was a few years ago we were there but when asking for room facing the strip you should also ask for upper floor because several of the views of strip are blocked by other buildings from the lower floors.
Also, if they still have it they run a shuttle bus to the strip that starts about 7:00AM and last bus back at around 11:00 (seems early but that's the way it was when we were there). We had our two sons there to celebrate younger son's 21st birthday and sometimes they would take the last bus to the strip and try to catch the 1st morning bus back, but my wife and I followed the more conventional schedule!! lol
Have a great time, it is in a good location.
