  • Reno grocery stores?

We are off to Reno next weekend. Can't wait! We are staying at the Celebrity Resort on Court Street. Does anyone know where a grocery store would be located? We have never been, so we aren't sure what chains they have, or which ones are the best to shop at. We'll probably eat breakfast in, but dinners at the casino buffets. Thanks!

Finding stores no problem in Reno.

If you drive past the Altantas Hotel/Casino within five miles heading towards Carson City you have so many shopping centers and groc stores to pick from.

According to mapquest.com there are quite a few grocery stores within a short radius of the resort.

      Downtown Marketplace
      145 Sierra St.

      Ace Mart
      142 W. Second St.

      Lucky go Fer Market
      110 E. Second St.

You will enjoy it very much! If you can take the short drive down to Lake Tahoe, and see the area...the West Shore has a neat terrain, and we love to stop and view Emerald Isle. Have a safe and fun journey!

Thank you for the good wishes. We plan to win our fortune at the slots , drive to Lake Tahoe for a day , and mid-week, we hope to go to San Francisco for a day or two. We'll stay in a hotel there, and do a city trolly tour. That ought to keep us out of trouble!

Sounds like a great time! I love SF! There are lots of wonderful things to do in a day or two....we took one of the bus tours out of the piers and had a wonderful time.

Do you by any chance remember the name of the tour company? There seem to be quite a few.

                  Suggestion

Having lived there for three years during the fifties (when Reno was a much smaller place), I would suggest a trip up the mountain to see Virginia City, stopping by the Bowers Mansion to do the tour on the way.

I cannot quite remember which company it was, but the tour was almost like this one:

Carmel, Monterey & Pebble Beach 17-Mile Drive Tour (Bus) from All San Francisco Tours

                    except ours included Muir Woods.
