What a wonderful place to visit ( and it doesn't look to disagreeable to live there either )

Had a lovely time. Every time we turned a corner my jaw would drop...FINALLY got to meet Katiemack and her DH which was wonderful but too short of a visit. I was not ready to come home.

Long tiring road home last night. Delays in DFW ( what else is new? ) and then ramp to GW bridge was closed and to top it off the fog was very thick on the Palisades parkway. Finally arrived home at 2:30AM eastern to a very angry and demanding tabby =^..^= who refused to let me sleep.

Remember I asked about new digital camera recommendations? Well the old one pretty much up & died while in Red Rock Country so most still pics are on the video camera. I need to run out and buy the computer connection cable for that to upload here.

and of course my review will be forthcoming.

    Missed you guys!
    Lawren

Glad you finally made it home, even though it sounds like a grueling trip back. That can be the undoing of our great vacations, can't it....but hoping you got some good memories to turn to when you need them. It was great meeting you, and I hope next time it will be a longer visit. Take care!

Welcome back, glad that your trip was good. Everything I have read tells me it's a great place to visit. We will be there in May. We are staying in Flagstaff but will get down to Sadona to look around.
                      Again, welcome back.

                          Thanks everyone!

We stayed at Sunterra Ridge on Sedona Golf Resort which is technically in the town of Oak Creek and about 20 minutes from the downtown Sedona area. The views were superb from our unit ( see SW photos for the view from our unit ) and very convenient to I-17 for travel to Grand Canyon etc.

The second time DH has said that he would "go back" so you know both the resoirt and the area were special.

Ken you will have a great time in May. I don't know if Mt Humphrey will still have snow on it but the San Francisco peaks are pretty "wow" themselves up in Flagstaff.

Welcome back! I am glad you enjoyed your vacation week. How would rate this resort and how was the weather? Is Sedona like Vegas a dry heat climate.

                              Ryne08,
Actually, Sedona is not a lot like Vegas.... at all...it is at an elevation of 4500 feet, has greenery, juniper, pinion pine, and all sorts of surprises....when it is hot, it is HOT....elevation adds to intensity of heat, but it cools down when sun goes down, and when it rains....during monsoon it is most noticeable, an afternoon shower can lower the temp by as much as 30 degrees.

Dry heat is hot, that is for sure. Many folks who live in humid climates enjoy their first taste of the heat. The sun is your biggest enemy and dehydration is the second. Heat stroke is a real danger for folks who trek out and forget that water is the most important element of the day, and shade is the second.

Our experience of Vegas is that it never cools because there you have more concrete, asphalt and buildings that keep the radiant heat in.
