Need Help w room in Vegas

Some years ago for our trip to St George, to which we added a few days in Las Vegas, I found a good rate on rooms at the Luxor on their website ... I was checking because it looked so cool from the outside.

It was fun being inside the pyramid, and going up the elevator at a slant (cheap thrills I know), and they had some neat Egyptian stuff on display in there.

Just another idea - if like me, you always wanted to see the pyramids in Egypt but figured you will probably never make it!

Luxor also has a good buffet.

Also an idea, don't know if you do split stays but I have stayed at Tropicana or Excalibur for the really cheap first nights and then moved to Mandalay Bay to enjoy their pool. It's kind of a pain to move but since I pack real light it wasn't too bad. THat way I saved money and also enjoyed the nicer resort. Also because I got to Vegas late at night and couldn't see paying for the Mandalay when I wasn't going to use it til the next day. Then I just did an early check in and moved and got to be there all day and saved about $150 for my first night. You need a room key to do the pool.

This works for Disney too in Orlando. I see alot of DVCers doing this to save points. THey stay at the airport the first night and then take magical express and get the whole day.
