  • Ridge Tahoe Resort in Lake Tahoe Nevada

    I own two units here and have tried helping others many times with their questions but I am totally lost on one myself! I know we have many members that also own there so I need help with a question I have never found answer to!

    On many sales/rent listings on timesharing forums you see the information listed and then see 0339,RGT,RIT,RG2 and RG3 and I have never seen anything explaining these meanings.

    Its obvious RGT means Ridge Tahoe but after this what?

    You would think it would stand for other outside resorts but they have different listings. Ridge View=RGV, Ridge Sierra=RGS, Ridge Pointe=RGP and Ridge Crest=RGC.

    I hope after all my time spent on this its more than a simple obvious answer!

    Hi Phil,

    I think they stand for different sections/buildings. However, if you exchange into Ridge with one of these codes, the resort doesn't necessarily abide to it, at least that's what the reseller told me...

      As an exchanger, that was my experience. Doesn't matter which code you book through II, resort still places you where they like.

        I agree Lisa but which code fits which buildings? We have seven buildings unless you count the three Naegles as one then we have five different buildings on site.

        Naegles=
        Tower==
        Plaza==
        Cascade=
        Terrace==

            Another offer with AC

            II just sent me a offer for a deposit of my Ridge Naegle building on 9/03/2010 and a AC.

            Fifth year in a row they offered me AC for my unit and probably fifth year to pass on it.

            I have passed every year because when we do use II its always been a Request First. Only had one AC and that was issued when we listed our second unit on our acct and we couldn't use it because of no choices we wanted.

            Also if I was to deposit I would have to extend my membership that ends in June 2010 and unless one of those deals comes through like last year when they offered Ridge owners two years for price of one we might just let our membership drop as we have already let the gold run out this year. Gold was a waste of our money and really haven't used the exchange much since 2005.

            I listed my week for rent on Tug Market Place and had it here for one week only because I never figured how to extend the ad!

            Guess I will give the ad few months before deciding to use it. Using it would be a no brainer except we will be up for our July 4th week already and going back two months later for Labor Day not that great of a idea!

              II found away to still issue us a AC for 2010.

              After I asked a question on Tug and no one repied I then sent two e-mails direct to II asking. They came back after three weeks which did me no good and I stated that we already let gold membership lapse and June 2010 our membership would end and because of actions like this we might just not renew again.

              They sent us a couple e-mails stating there was no excuse for them not getting back to my question and had already put a AC in my file to use by Oct 2010.

              This is also a way to maybe get us to renew past June so we might use it. I hate to waste it like last time and maybe we will grab a Vegas week once we see if we rent our Labor day week in Lake Tahoe.

                As I stated in another post our membership is up in June 2010 and not sure if we will renew because we just have not been trading. I thought I would wait it out to see if again this year II offers a two for one renew of membership!

                Today The Ridge Tahoe sent e-mail of news plus offer of two years for price of one for Ridge owners so I guess I will stay couple more years with II. Maybe some how we can use the AC II gave us.

                  I hope you get to use your AC!

                    I have never deposited my Ridge Tahoe week as we either use it ourselves, or rent it out for big bucks (used to be anyway). However, it's good to know that your Sept week got AC.
                    Did you know Ridge was renting holiday weeks at quite a reasonable rate to owners this year? I procrastinated and by the time I decided to grab a few days, only one day left for next week...Hope some of you got some nice bonus time for the holidays.

                      Lisa we haven't exchanged since our Maui in 2008 that had to be canceled because of airline closing. It wasn't our Labor Day week because we kept it to rent or sell if possible or we will go back up and enjoy our Naegle unit.

                      The AC came from II because they took way to long to come back with a answer to my question.

                      If we rent the Naegle we might use the AC for something because we will aready be up to our Tower unit for July 4th week like normal.

                      We did get offer {AC's} from II for both Tower and Naegle but turned it down as when we do exchange its on a request first only.

                        We just returned from our great July 4th week at the Ridge. Had two different people wanting to buy our Naegle unit this week up there. We ran a ad on Tug for months and no response and had one man asking about the summer Naegle units because his parents owed at the Plaza and he was looking for a Naegle. He was talking to me and I told him we owned Tower and Naegle but Naegle now just to large for us. He was seeing if he could get the money while we were staying this week.

                        Didn't work out because we sold it to another owner couple hours later that we met in resales office as they were asking about the Nagles but now resales office takes the deeds and resell in points only. When this owner heard we were thinking of selling he talk to us and gave our price listed on Tug and paid and all paperwork was finished within one day with the free help from the sales dept at the Ridge.

                        It was really nice of this sales lady to help so the unit stays in Ridge owner's hands.

                        I have always said talking to people at your resort when on vacation still the best and safe way to deal. The buyer was able to have sales pull up our deed and make sure everything up to date within five minutes instead of working with some stranger on a timeshare forum.
