AFter a lot of politics, Christmas Mountain will finally be served by Lake Delton Fire and Rescue, about half the response time as it was under Reedsburg.


Also, my new avatar is the 7th hole at christmas mountain in the fall.

There will be an election on april 6 that will determine if the fire and rescue stays for Christmas Mountain out of Lake Delton. Duane Brooks was defeated for election last year and the new board signed a contract with t he Lake Delton fire and resce. Duane and a friend are running again, promising to get rid of the Lake Delton Fire and REscue and reinstate Reedsburg for the entire area.
The new members of the board, who live at christmas Mountain, are also the ones who got the street lights at the corner of Lyndon and Coon Bluff thruough a grant from the state. Duane Brooks was opposed to the street lights too, saying this is a rural area.

the people who ran fromt he Christmas Mt side of the township won, and the contract with the lake Delton emergency system will stay in effect. they also have a higher rating, saves on insuranxce and more skilled emt's, plus the shorter response time.

Yesterday, I saw Lake Delton Rescue parked outside a neighbor's house on christmas Mountain Road. I was concerned. Apparently the call was to the cottages, and they could not find the cottages. I think they need a better map of the grounds.

Pat, one main problem is the Cottages are located in 2 mian seperate areas. The number 500 units are in one area and the other Cottages numbered in the 100's,200's 300's 600's are lossely grouped on several differant roads.

but the three rescue vehicles couldn't even find their way into the campground/cottage area. they were in the residential area. We see peole riding up and down our street three or four times. If you are looking for checkin, it should become apparent it isn't on that street after a couple of passes.
