I've wondered about the seat belts thing. OTOH, I once saw an accident with a public bus where a large car (one of the boats from the 1970s) ran a red light and accelerated right into the corner of the bus. I was sitting right behind the driver and saw the whole thing, and I was more aware of my astonishment in seeing the car literally bounce off the bus bumper than of the actual strike. It was more of a thunk than a whack, if you see what I mean; you felt it in your bones and through the seat, but didn't get thrown around much. The difference in weight distribution, and the sturdiness of the bus, meant that the car took all the damage. I don't know how much Ducks weigh, but certainly it's more than the average car, potentially meaning they're pretty stable even when hit. They're awfully high off the ground, though, which would add to the instability. And it looks like the pickup may have gone under the Duck far enough to knock the front wheels loose, which could obviously knock people out of their seats.
Still, looking at the front of that pickup, I am glad but amazed that they report "none of the injuries were life threatening." Things must've gotten pretty cramped for the guys in that front seat!
Off subject a bit -- Chris, how would you compare the jounciness of riding the Ducks to the Safari ride at Animal Kingdom?
