Advising previous guests not to rent

Anyone have any experience with this yet? An individual who has used several of my Cottage weeks recently told me that they got a letter saying that they should not be getting weeks from other owners.

I am guessing they have made a list of all the people who have stayed, that are not owners and reservations were made under somebody else's account regardless of the relationship status that was provided when making the booking.

I wonder if this change has occurred because of the change in the board and the fact that Sheri is no longer a part of it?

You're saying this is someone that has rented several weeks from you to stay there, and they got a letter telling them they shouldn't be doing that? Or is the individual someone that has handled renting several weeks for you?

The have rented weeks from me on eBay and said they received a letter not to purchase from owners. I may see if I can get a copy of the letter for the details.

I am really surprised there ae so many rule violations going on here,and they are going after this, which probably is totally within the rules.

You should review the paperwork for ownership to see if they have a right to do this. If not raise holy hell!

Have you seen this in your ownership documents or are you repeating something you heard?

Edit. And as I recall you posting, you daughter/family members frequently rent units at CMV. Have any of them gotten a letter from the management warning them not to rent from owners? And I see Sheri posting the info regarding one rental on the yahoo group.

This really seems crazy.....Bluegreen Management sent out this letter to a repeat "guest" of an owner?
I must admit that all I have is my Christmas Mountain UDI deed and have never looked into the actually terms of usage but it seems hard to believe that I am not allowed to let a guest use my owned time.

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of our terms of use?
I know the Bluegreen Points document can be linked from the owner website and it can also be found on the Blugreen Yahoo group.
I will log into my online CMV account and see what I can see.

I don't think you're going to find anything in the online account (at least I couldn't). The person that I got mine from was an original owner, and she was kind enough to send me all of the documentation she had (which I uploaded to the yahoo site). I can't find anything in the Timbers documents that I have restricting rentals.

There is supposedly a "users manual", and I was thinking of calling BG to see if I could get a copy.

I was repeating Sherri's information. I do know in 1988 the sales manager told us about the new cottage UDi program and said they could not be rented out. I was not on a sales tour, and did not see it in writing. My daughter hasn't mentioned getting a letter Again, Bluegreen does not enforce any rules here; they approved illegal ed additions in permanent sites and now the county is shutting that down; people are staying all summer int he campground section which is against the rules; people are renting RV sites again against the rules.

I am guessing this guest said they were renting instead of your guest so they outed you.

That would be my thought too.

I called in today and said I had heard there was an "owners manual" and asking if I could get copies of any information pertaining to the UDIs, and they had me on hold for a while checking on it. Eventually they came back and told me I would have to call the resort directly to get the information. I'm not going to try and do that on a Saturday. I'll wait until next week.

Sheraton was great in that when you logged in to your account online there was a link to download the governing documents for your resort. I was kind of spoiled by that.

I thought from your posts she had done it frequently. This would really be a nice ownership for you to have for visiting family members.
